Xena sort of meddles in Gabrielle's life as she has lost her way. She sends Gabrielle a man to help her move on and be happy all that.... read it if you can its lovely.. So anyway I'm drifting off a bit. My point is It made me think, Who would Gabrielle end up with if Xena doesn't come back? I think Beowulf and her, I mean how cute is this couple. Lets face it he knew about Gabrielle and Xena love bond etc and he still couldn't help being smitten, he devoted his life to freeing her from the eternal flame. Then he let her ride off with Xena WHAT A MAN What do you think?

I can't say that the Gabrielle/Beowulf pairing ever really appealed to me. IMO Beowulf wasn't very well-drawn as a character, and his love for Gabrielle just seemed to come out of nowhere (I mean he'd known her for about 5 minutes). But it could have been interesting if the character and his feelings had been better developed. I know of at least one story in which Gabrielle ends up with Beowulf after Xena's death but it happens "offcamera" sort of... it's from Eve's POV and she learns about it after Gabrielle herself is dead. (Not a very happy story, but a very beautiful one.)

You could say the same thing about Brunhilda. See, that was the episode that was all about the idea that "everybody loves Gabrielle." I thought Beowulf could have been interesting with Gabrielle. True, he wasn't a well developed character but then again, he wasn't around a whole lot, either. I think if they had decided to develop him and put him in other storylines where he's not such a character in the background, it could have been interesting. I like Beofwulf. He was hadsome and, I don't know, I could see him with Gabrielle, yeah.

So it would be fun if Gab ran into him and maybe traveled with him for a while helping him stay on the right track. Mind you there 25yr nap messes that theory up nicely

Don't think I liked the story (the linked one), well it was well written still didn't like it cause it was so sad. But it made me cry, something I've been planning on doing for a long time now. so wow. I can't really see her with any of the established characters. Though hadn't it been for the time jump, her and Paleamon would indeed have been an interesting pairing. Then again I have sorta a hard time imagining Gabrielle with another Warrior, somehow I think she would stay away from them. Been there, done that, got the heartache to prove it.

And I don't tear up easily. It's just so... . Makes me appreciate the character of Eve a lot more than I ever did on the show.

And finally, they died together. Then he took my hand and opened a little door. On a small bed there lay a child, his head a mass of fair curls. Gabrielle left a child, he told me softly, so as not to wake the boy. He shut the door, led me back to my bed. A strange fleeting expression crossed his face. What is it, I asked. She cried when he was born, Virgil admitted, looking out the window. She cried because Xena wasn't there to see him. I knew what he would say next. She named him Lyceus - As though she hadn't done enough by dying O M G you people trying to kill me???

On the other hand I once talked to someone who said she usually moved on from her fandoms after a couple of months. She was into X:WP for about six months which was apparently a very long time for her. Though I think she was into Harry Potter for about a year after that. I don't get it, myself. Carly still loves the show, she's just not into it enough to discuss it and I think she feels she's written all the Xena fanfic she had in her. I know she was in the Farscape fandom for a while after that, I actually tried reading some of her Farscape fics (I'm somewhat familiar with the show) but couldn't get into them. Her Xena stories are great, though they're most Xena/Ares so not really your thing. You might enjoy Divine Sight, though. (Totally OT for this thread!)
