Just a warning- if you haven't seen the entire season before now, don't listen to the commentaries until you do, because they spoil things that happen in future eps.

I'm opening this thread for one reason- Season 6 is finally out on DVD, and my copy that I preordered arrived yesterday afternoon. I've only gotten
through Hour 5, but I plan to finish the season and check out all the special features before the end of the week.

Hey, no need to hide from me. Getting SVU is a good choice as well.

Well, at least the two sides are talking.
Something else I picked up when I preordered my DVD set were the Official Companion books for Season 1-5 (Season 6's book doesn't come out until January 15). Definitely an interesting read. They contain interviews with TPTB about the season in review, and Kiefer on Jack in the different season, detailed episode summaries for each episode, research files on anything related to particular episodes, and character biographies for the major characters. The first 4 seasons were condensed into 2 books, but Season 5 gets its own book. It also has a piece on the writing of Eps 11 + 12, retrospectives on the major characters that were killed, a section on the First Family, and bits about the Emmys the show won. Definitely some interesting reading, that's for sure. |

I've never watched 24 but I'm curious, is one episode supposed to be one hour and one season, one day? How does that work? Don't the characters
ever sleep? Sorry for the stupid question.

Skye42 wrote: Oh, believe me, those aren't stupid questions. You are correct. Every episode is one hour, and each season covers one 24 hour period. So if the season starts at 7 AM, it will end at 7 AM the next day.As for the sleeping thing, you might see a character take a few winks once in a blue moon, but for the most part, the characters never sleep, they never eat, and they never, EVER, go to the bathroom. The mundane things that we need to function aren't shown because it doesn't make for compelling TV. However, it is a show that I highly recommend. |
