For the last several days, we have been having so hellacious wind storms.. As most of you may or may not know I live in Alaska... Alaska is
spread out over little islands (called the bush), and tundra...
With Alaska being as spread out as it is, we dependly heavily on life flight to get alot of emergancy patients from point A to point B... Depending on the
weather and the intensity of the victim, this could be as close as Anchorage, Ak, or as far as Seattle WA...
Late last night the call was made from a neighboring village in the bush... We had an extreme case of high winds, keeping all planes grounded, and heavy
warnings for driving conditions... However, when a call is made, unless there is an issue with visual acuity, life flight goes out... Shortly after take off
the chopper went off the charts.. They were not able to locate it anywhere.. When the winds died down today, several rescue choppers, from civilian planes, to
national and coast guard, state police, and EMS went out looking for the chopper...
Sadly, all they found was a few peices of Debre... There was a local ER nurse, a local fire fighter and Paramedic, as well as the Life Flight crew them selves
on the aircraft... It is assumed that there was no survivors...
Please take a moment out of your busy scheduals and give these people, who risked and lost their lives in an attempt to help save someone elses a moment of
silence.. And please send positive thoughts to the loved ones that were left behind...
