IMHO having a Citroen DS, Citroen CX Pallas, a Rover 3500, and a Tatra V8 in Caprica's garage is fracking ridiculous.
Ofcourse this would include the Humvee Starbuck's driving around in.
As a car enthousiast first and scifi second I really liked how the parallel universe of the BSG world progressed. They're ancient Greek/Roman mythology wrapped up into modern day science.
Its just silly using 4 consecutive Car of the Year icons in an alien environment like the planet Caprica.
Its not hard to recreate a totally alien car without borrowing from 1960s technology (1966 I think) from Earth.
In the illfated Cleo 2525 scifi show one of the spaceship bucks was a 1990s Toyota Sera.

Only the body was used and placed on a buckframe, the body was cut neatly in half and its width extended. A nosecone was added to the rear to make it look like the front of the cockpit. The gullwing doors were its unique alien feature, but very recognisable if you happened to know someone who owned a Toyota Sera.
As no spaceship miniatures are used (all CGI, yes?) I can understand that the set making skills could be lacking, and it also shows that the budget is extremely tight in this show when no one thought of 'borrowing' one-off supercars that never went into production and that layman like myself wouldn't be
toa

Boomer: Just keep it up, old buddy, you're going to get us into real trouble.
Starbuck: Ten thousand light years from nowhere, our planet shot to pieces, people starving, and *I'm* gonna get us in trouble?
